BrandHouse has been working with Nestlé’s brands – Quality Street and Smarties, for a couple of years, selling their famous best-sellers on the Scandinavian market online.
Quality Street has been one of the nation’s favorite twist wrapped assortments for 80 years. In 1890 John Mackintosh and his wife opened a shop in Halifax, where they created a new kind of sweet by mixing hard toffee with runny caramel. They were so successful that in 1898 they expanded the operation to build the world’s first toffee factory. When John Mackintosh died, his son Harold inherited the business and in 1936 he invented Quality Street. The brand was acquired by Nestlé in 1988. Quality Street use UTZ Certified sustainable cocoa beans to make the delicious chocolate that covers the sweets in the assortment and contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
Smarties are a color-varied sugar-coated chocolate confectionery. They have been manufactured since 1937, originally by H.I. Rowntree & Company in the UK, and are currently produced by Nestlé. Rowntree’s of York, England, have been making “Chocolate Beans” since at least 1882. The product was renamed “Smarties Chocolate Beans” in 1937.Rowntree’s was forced to drop the words “chocolate beans” in 1937 due to trading standards requirements.
In 2019 BrandHouse sold over 275 000 euros of Quality Street and Smarties products on the Scandinavian market. All four Scandinavian countries account for around 24 million people and BrandHouse can provide access to brand owners to all these consumers easily through cross-border e-commerce.
