BrandHouse has been working with Mondelez’s brands – Milka and Freia, for a couple of years, selling their famous best-sellers on the Scandinavian market online.
In 1826 Philip Sushard started making Suchard chocolate in his hometown near Neuchâtel. The name of the brand Milka is registered as a patent in 1901 and the first block of Milka was packaged in the legendary purple paper. Milka is a combination of milk and cocoa. In the following years, Milka became more and more popular not only locally, but also internationally. In 1972 YOUNG & RUBICAM created the Milka cow. In 1973 she became the central advertising figure of the brand. In 2004 Milka’s new friends were introduced – Milka’s cow is accompanied by a squirrel and a marmot in the new one. In 2007 Milka started coming in an eco-friendly package, which replaces the aluminum foil.
In 1892 Johan Throne bought the Freia factory in Verksgata 25B, at Rodeløkka in Oslo. Even after six years, it was clear that this was the start of a world-class business, as the chocolate factory increased from seven to 60 employees. The company grew more and went international despite the difficulties that the World War posed, thus becoming the biggest Norwegian chocolate producer and one of the most famous chocolate brands worldwide.
In 2019 BrandHouse sold over 25 000 euros of Milka and Freia products on the Scandinavian market. Spikes in sales were noticeable in the months before and during Christmas and Easter holidays. All four Scandinavian countries account for around 24 million people and BrandHouse can provide access to brand owners to all these consumers easily through cross-border e-commerce. With an even greater potential of 1,4 billion people, China is yet another great opportunity for brand owners to expand their business and BrandHouse has a full set up and local organization facilitating cross-border e-commerce.
